25 week appointment

I was really nervous going into my 25 week appointment, mostly because I had to have yet another sonogram to check out the placement of my placenta. If it was still low lying, it could potentially turn into placenta previa, putting me on pelvic rest for the remainder of my pregnancy. Not the worst thing by any means, but I was really hoping to avoid this!

I walked into the ultrasound room, nervous, but excited to see baby girl yet again. She is getting so big! They estimated her at around 2 pounds, with a big ol' noggin like her brother and long limbs. I am not sure where those come into play, but hey! We'll take them! She was moving all over the place, opening and closing her mouth a lot, and it was just so incredible to watch.

Profile. I think she has my nose.

Looking face on with her mouth open.

And then I heard the words I was longing to hear- Your placenta moved up on it's own, so there is no cause for worry there. Wuhoo! Then I had to wait to see the doctor. I finally gained 2 pounds, so there's that. I bought Fannie Mae Mint Meltaway ice cream last weekend at the store, so I am sure that is the culprit. My sweet tooth has been terrible lately.

The doctor got a strong heartbeat at 150 bpm, a kick on the wand too! We discussed C-section dates and have one tentatively scheduled- but it's a secret. I can't believe I only have 14 weeks left! It is going by SO fast. I go back in 3 weeks for an appointment and my glucose testing, then every 2 weeks after that! Baby girl will be here before we know it! We talked about the restless leg thing, and I went ahead and started taking the medicine she prescribed me. I am on the smallest dose at .25 mg, and I am happy to say that it helped without me feeling groggy or worthless the next morning.

I am feeling ready as far as clothing, blankets, etc. I wish Brayden would have done a little better the first time I put him in his big boy bed, but I know he will change a LOT over the course of the next couple of months. We have to dig some things out of the attic (infant carrier, bassinet for the pack n play, etc) but nothing I am in a hurry to do right now. Next big thing on the list? Brayden's 2nd birthday party in 3 weeks!

I'm glad everything turned out to be okay! I had complete previa during my pregnancy with Landon. It finally moved up enough at 28 weeks but I lived in fear of a c-section my entire pregnancy! Not fun!

I don't think I knew you were having a little girl. How exciting! I bet your shopping up a storm! Also? I can't believe B will be 2 soon! Crazy town!
